Hi! My name is Kyndall Womack. I'm an artist and graphic designer based in Central Texas. I'm an avid reader (lots of fantasy books!), a video gamer (mostly Minecraft), and an animal lover. My business is even named after my tabby cat, Cedar!
The Artist
I started Cedar and Fern Studios in 2023 when I first decided to vend at an art market. My Mammaw, Glenda, sold her work at markets across Texas. Growing up, my family always followed them around to festivals and events. My Grammy, Anita, was also an artist and art teacher, and her work now fills the walls of my parents home. I spent summers in my Aunt Tandy's craft room making clay figurines, painting, and crafting. I wasn't sure if I would ever try to sell my work until I joined the Dripping Springs Art League and gained the confidence to try.
Since that first market, I've refined my set up, expanded my offerings, and built a small community. I recently started selling my work online with the help of my amazing boyfriend/ product photographer. Most of my inventory consists of handprinted lino-cut shirts. I love thrifting, so upcycling clothing with my art felt only natural. I also love doing commissions, including my most recent painting, a book cover! The new cover of Hart's Betrayal by S. Bolanos is my original acrylic painting. I will definitely be searching for more opportunities like that in the future.
The Graphic Designer
During college, I struggled to find a career path. Finally, I decided a career outside of the arts just wouldn't be fulfilling for me. I landed on graphic design and fell in love with the process. I spent a semester at the prestigious ELISAVA design school in Barcelona, Spain, being taught by some of the most talented designers in the industry. Surrounded by other talented graphic designers, I grew my skills and refined my work in brand, packaging, conceptual, and experiential design. I also learned video editing, product prototyping, and presentational skills.
When I returned to Texas Lutheran University, I completed my degree in Business Administration with a Marketing concentration and a minor in Art. In my final year at TLU, I worked at the Marketing Student Assistant for the International Education department. I got to flex my design muscles by rebranding the department's visuals, including the logo, brand kit, and assets. I implemented social media campaigns, built a marketing plan, and designed new print materials.
After graduation, I joined the Grapevine Signs and Design team as the graphic designer and customer liaison. After three years, I've created thousands of signs, several logos and brand kits, and illustrations for customers and Grapevine. My design work has ended up across the country on photo booths, and litters Central Texas on signs, vehicles, and more.
